Gov. Jim Pillen has appointed seven members to Nebraska’s newly expanded Brand Committee following changes approved by lawmakers earlier this year.
LB 1187 increased the committee from five to seven members and changed its membership requirements. The committee now includes five cattle producers, one feedlot owner or operator and one livestock auction market owner.
Pillen’s appointments took effect immediately and are subject to confirmation by the Nebraska Legislature. The five cattle producer appointments are Ben Holliday, District 1; Jed Connealy, District 2; Kraig Freeman, District 3; Dr. Kip Lukasiewicz, District 4; and Jordan Feller, District 5.
