Flood is accepting resumes for interns

U.S. Rep. Mike Flood is accepting applications for the spring 2027 internship program in his Washington, D.C., office, according to an announcement from his office.

The internship will run from Jan. 25 through May 14 and is designed to provide students and recent graduates with firsthand experience in the operations of a congressional office. The application deadline is Friday, Oct. 2.

According to Flood’s office, interns will work with multiple teams and gain exposure to constituent services, communications, legislative work, office operations and committee activities. The program also includes opportunities to attend policy briefings, congressional hearings, guest speaker events and networking activities on Capitol Hill.

“Interns play an important role in our office,” Flood said in a statement. “This experience is about more than learning how Congress works. Our program is an opportunity to contribute to the work of our office, engage directly with Nebraskans, and gain firsthand experience in public service.”

Students and recent graduates with ties to Nebraska’s 1st Congressional District will receive first consideration, according to the announcement.

Additional information about the internship program and application requirements is available through Flood’s office.
