Northside News

First of all: Thank you everyone who came out for our Fall Rummage Sale and our BRUNCH on Sunday. We had a wonderful turnout for the Rummage Sale on Thursday and Friday and more than expected (due to the rain) for the final day of the Sale and for Brunch! We really appreciate your support for our Center. (And you got great bargains and fabulous food too.)

Monday, 21st is “Batman Day”, “International Day of Peace”, “International Eat an Apple Day”, “International Red Panda Day”, “National Miniature Golf Day”, (I wish I was out there doing that today!), “National Clean-Up Day”, “National Pecan Cookie Day”, “National Singles Day”, and Oktoberfest begins!

Tuesday, September 22nd is “Dear Diary Day” (Do you know anyone who still keeps a diary?), “Falls Prevention Awareness Day”, “Hobbit Day”, “National Girls’ Night IN Day”, “National Ice Cream Cone Day”, and “National White Chocolate Day”. I wonder which might possibly show at the Center?

Wednesday, September 23rd is Go with Your Gut Day”, “Innergize Day”, “International Day” of Sign Languages”, “Restless Legs Awareness Day”, “National By Jo Waara Checkers Day” (Want to play a game?), “National Great American Pot Pie Day”, and “Redhead Appreciation Day” Thursday, September 24th is “National Punctuation Day”, “World Bollywood Day”, “National Horchata Day”, and “National Cherries Jubilee Day”. It is also, of course our evening meal and the last evening meal of the month, so I hope to have the Newsletter ready by then.

Friday, September 25th is”Binge Day”, “National Comic Book Day”, “National Cooking Day”, “National Lobster Day” (I truly wish we could afford to have Lobster on the menu today!), “National One-Hit Wonder Day”, “World Dream Day”, “National Tune-Up Day”, “National Roadkill Day”, and “National Quesadilla Day” (MUCH more tasty than road-kill, but not as good as Lobster, in my opinion!)) Today, September 25th (Nine-Two-Five) is the first “Dolly Parton Day” to honor Dolly and her famous song “Nine to Five”! Does anyone know all of the words? Maybe we should have a contest? At any rate, come celebrate with us this week. We’d love to see you.
