16th-place run at 23:26.62 to round out the scoring on the team win.
The girls kept up the dominating weekend on a quick turnaround to Neligh. Jessen and Herman merely switched order and advanced to fourth and fifth place on another shoulder-to-shoulder finish. Schmidt rounded out the top ten of the field, and it was Rachel Rudloff coming up with 11th place right behind her.
The boys, up against top teams from Lincoln Christian and hosting Norfolk Catholic, ended up taking fourth just a few points behind O’Neill.
Clausen, who led a good portion of the race on Friday, finished with a time of 17:51.73 and went into eighth place. Myles Allen scored tenth place, running a time of 18:09.53. Eli Anderson and Zayden Thramer rounded out the top 25.
The boys found more of a groove in Neligh, going from four in the top 25 to all four in the top ten. Clausen improved his race and never lost sight of the lead cart, finishing with a time of
17:24.64. Allen also went up in his finish, taking third with a time of
18:20.586. Anderson and Thramer went sixth and tenth, beating out competitive Class D teams Elkhorn Valley and Creighton.
Battle Creek will run next in the Central City Invite on Thursday.
