Ladies move record to 10-1

A busy first weekend in the 2026 volleyball season gave way to a single-game first week of September for the Bravettes.

The slow down did not throw off the girls, who stayed on their early-season roll with a victory over Wakefield to extend the earlyseason streak to six wins - all of them sweeps.

A 10-1 start propelled the Bravettes to a blowout 25-9 firstset, polished off by the serving of Payton Arens in a five-ace night. The sophomore ended with a team-high serving percentage of 95.7%.

The offense ran efficiently and was guided by senior setter Ava Kuchar, whose season-high 31 assists pushed her to over 100 assists on the year.

Halle Borchers recorded a dozen kills to lead a team that distributed its offensive production across seven different attackers.

Battle Creek will have played one more road match in a lengthy series of trips, this time to Ponca for a Tuesday match.

The Bravettes (6-0) will host its first home matches of the season on Thursday, taking on Summerland and Norfolk Catholic in a triangular. Start time is set for 5 p.m.
